Synopsis

The Holy Grail War is a battle royale among seven magi who serve as Masters. Masters, through the use of the command seals they are given when they enter the war, command Heroic Spirits known as Servants to fight for them in battle. In the Fifth Holy Grail War, Rin Tohsaka is among the magi entering the competition. With her Servant, Archer, she hopes to obtain the ultimate prize—the Holy Grail, a magical artifact capable of granting its wielder any wish. One of Rin's classmates, Shirou Emiya, accidentally enters the competition and ends up commanding a Servant of his own known as Saber. As they find themselves facing mutual enemies, Rin and Shirou decide to form a temporary alliance as they challenge their opponents in the Holy Grail War.

Reviews

invisibleunicornninja This show is absolutely fantastic. The animation, voice acting, and story are all great. Its really interesting, and I'd highly recommend it.
Asparagine A terrible follow up from what was a decent first season. The dialogue between characters was jarring with many eye rolling moments. The plot lacks any depth and most of the characters make completely irrational decisions. The characters also lack any type of historical connection unlike what the first season presented (outside of the occasional mention) and none of their goals are known. Sabre, the only heroic spirit from the first season to play much of a part in this season, lacks the tenacity which she previously possessed and is now a submissive 'seen but not heard' character. One of the most disappointing aspects of this season was that there was no conclusion, the last episode simply sets up the next season. This feels like the producers had too much money, and no enough time/decent script. Don't waste your time on this, it simply isn't worth it.
danielocn1 This show is the first anime I can call a guilty pleasure. As many may know at this point, this show looks gorgeous, the action scenes specially are breath-taking and the overall animation is top notch, the concept is... interesting, I guess. And, the most important thing about it (for me at least) is that it's entertaining as f*ck.And it's not an small thing, there's a lot of "bad" with this series, like the rules of the "game" that can be bend by... anyone basically. Or the bland, stereotyped, absolutely imbecile characters that conform the protagonist and the main characters (Masters, mainly), and the-sometimes-predictable-plot of the overarching story. But the animation, action and charisma from a couple of Servants make the show somewhat worth it.Is not great, at all. But the way it is able to make itself watchable by having a great look, OK music and a few really interesting characters is an achievement by itself. I can recommend it, just have fun.
Manav Nair I absolutely hated fate/zero because of the slow pace and tragic ending. there were very few likable characters in it. But this sequel Is just awesome!! beautiful visuals and an amazing soundtrack with a better story than Fate/Zero. The characterization of all the servants was awesome. Archer and Lancer. were badass. I liked Saber in this than in Fate /Zero. Caster was sly but awesome. berserker was also good. The Art, the Animation,Sound were beyond expectations. This anime has set a high-bar for other fighting anime. If you loved "Attack On Titan" and "Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood" then i suggest you check this out.."Trace On"
